Known issues listed by Nexon
Nexon lists three current issues for the macOS Beta. Each one comes with the advice Nexon gives.
Steam access on macOS 27 Golden Gate. Nexon says players who updated to macOS 27 Golden Gate cannot access MapleStory through Steam. Nexon advises downloading and installing MapleStory directly from the Nexon Launcher. That prompts the Rosetta install the game needs. Nexon says that once Rosetta is installed, the game can be opened from Steam as normal.
FPS drops. Nexon says some players have reported frame rate drops in the macOS client. It recommends turning off all in-game sound settings, which it says may help. It does not call this a fix.
Cmd+M minimizes the client. Nexon says the macOS shortcut Cmd+M can still be triggered while 'Auto Key Activation' is enabled. When that happens, the game client minimizes. Nexon lists no workaround in the text we reviewed.
Earlier Classic World fixes
The list includes one earlier entry that names Classic World. On August 4, 2026, Nexon updated the macOS client to v.0.0.32. It says that update resolved an issue where the top menu bar appeared in full-screen mode on certain non-widescreen monitors. It also resolved an issue causing game controller malfunctions.
Other entries in the list cover the wider macOS client and Steam installs. Examples are black borders when launching through Steam on July 9, 2026 and Discord Connect support on June 17, 2026. Nexon does not tie those entries to Classic World specifically.
What it means for a Mac player this week
Confirmed: the macOS client at v.0.0.38 supports Classic World through both launchers. Confirmed: Steam access is a known problem on macOS 27 Golden Gate, and Nexon names the Nexon Launcher route as the way around it.
Not confirmed: when the three known issues will be fixed. Nexon gives no date in the text we reviewed. Check the Nexon update list for new entries after October 5, 2026.
If you are on a Mac, update to v.0.0.38 first. Then restart the client. If Steam will not open the game, install through the Nexon Launcher and accept the Rosetta prompt.
