MapleStory Boss Timer and Planner (Classic World)

Classic World launches with a handful of field bosses on Victoria Island, not the weekly boss rotation of modern MapleStory. Nexon's release notes name Mano, Mushmom, Shade, Zombie Mushmom and Jr. Balrog as the bosses to challenge during Founder's Access; King Slime is fought inside the Kerning City Party Quest and Rotten Mushmom waits in Forgotten Hollow, which is closed for now. Each field boss respawns on a timer after it dies, so the way to plan is to know the timers and be at the map when one is due.

Mark a boss as killed and the planner counts down to its next spawn in your browser. Enter your level and it flags which bosses are sensible targets, using the wiki's level-difference damage penalty.

Timers are saved in this browser only. Respawn figures are the wiki's listed values; the real spawn window varies by channel and by who got the kill, so arrive a few minutes early. The damage figure is the wiki's level-difference rule: about 89 percent kept five levels below a monster, about 67 percent ten below.

Frequently asked

Is there a weekly boss system in MapleStory Classic World?

No. Weekly boss entries and crystals are modern MapleStory systems. Nexon's Founder's Access release notes list Mano, Mushmom, Shade, Zombie Mushmom and Jr. Balrog as the bosses you can challenge, plus King Slime in the Kerning City Party Quest. Rotten Mushmom is in Forgotten Hollow, which is closed during Founder's Access. Shade is not yet in the wiki data, so the timer covers the bosses the database knows.

How long do bosses take to respawn?

The wiki lists about 30 minutes for Mano, Mushmom, Zombie Mushmom and Rotten Mushmom. King Slime is the Kerning City Party Quest boss and Jr. Balrog's respawn is not recorded yet. The timer here uses the listed figure and lets you adjust it.

Can I fight Zakum in Classic World?

No. Zakum is the name of a Founder's Package tier, not a boss you can fight at launch. The Zakum fight belongs to El Nath, which Nexon has held back.

What level should I be for each boss?

The wiki's level-difference rule says you keep about 89 percent of your damage five levels below a monster and about 67 percent ten below. The planner flags a boss as a stretch when you are more than five levels under it.
