April 17 Unscheduled Maintenance: Fixes Listed

Nexon ran unscheduled maintenance on April 17, 2026 for the MapleStory Classic World Closed Online Test, with fixes and a Windows 11 crash advisory.

Nexon ran unscheduled server maintenance on Friday, April 17, 2026 for the MapleStory Classic World Closed Online Test. Nexon says the work finished at about 7:00 AM PDT. Players should restart the Nexon Launcher to receive the latest client update.

What Nexon says happened

The maintenance was originally scheduled for April 21, 2026. Nexon says it moved the work forward to address bugs and to keep gameplay uninterrupted through the weekend.

The window ran from 5:00 AM to 7:00 AM PDT. That is 8:00 AM to 10:00 AM EDT, 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM CEST, and 10:00 PM to 12:00 AM AEST on April 18. Nexon estimated about 2 hours. All Classic World game servers were unavailable during that time.

The notice does not say whether the original April 21 maintenance still goes ahead. That has not been confirmed.

Changes and updates listed

Nexon lists the following changes in the notice:

  • The Crafting UI tab now opens when you select crafting tools.
  • Monster stats in the Kerning City Party Quest and the 2nd Job Advancement quests were adjusted. Nexon says this makes them easier to attack for certain jobs. It does not name which jobs.
  • Player Shops can now be closed with the ESC key.
  • The spawn rate of Iron Hog on the Pig Beach map was adjusted. Nexon does not say whether it went up or down.
  • The cost of Gem Processing with the Arcforge was adjusted. No new figure is given.
  • An animation now plays when a character recovers HP and MP.

Fixes listed

Nexon also lists these resolved issues:

  • Damage from multi-hit skills did not display if the monster was on top of the character.
  • Dialogue text was incorrect in the Letter for Lucas quest.
  • Dialogue text was incorrect in the Mrs. Ming Ming's First Worry quest.
  • Players could not perform some actions after a trade was cancelled by taking damage.
  • The Chat UI could not be adjusted after changing maps while minimized.
  • Right-clicking a name in the Chat UI was inaccurate.
  • The Background Preview feature in the Cash Shop had a visual issue.
  • Relisting an item in a Personal Store caused the client to disconnect.

Client crashes and Windows 10

Nexon says some players have had frequent client crashes. After investigating, it found that many occurred on clients running Windows 10. Windows 10 reached the end of support in 2025. Nexon recommends Windows 11 for a smoother experience.

This is a recommendation, not a stated requirement. The notice does not say that Windows 10 will be blocked. It also does not say the update fixes the crashes on Windows 10.

What it changes for a player this week

If you were in the test, restart the Nexon Launcher before you log in. Nexon says that is how you receive the latest client update.

If you plan to run the Kerning City Party Quest or the 2nd Job Advancement quests, expect monsters that Nexon says are easier to attack for some jobs. If you use Player Shops or Personal Stores, the ESC close and the disconnect fix are the changes to check.

The notice covers the Closed Online Test only. It makes no statement about the Founder's Access date of October 6, 2026 or the Grand Launch date of October 21, 2026. Those dates come from separate Nexon announcements.
