After reading this you will know which of the six Victoria Island towns to head for with your class, the level at which each job town advances you, which quests start in each town, and which nearby maps fit your level. It is built only from figures that mapleclassic.wiki lists, and where the wiki leaves a gap, this guide says so.
MapleStory Classic World runs inside the existing Global MapleStory (GMS) client. Nexon's FAQ states that Founder's Access opens October 6, 2026 and Grand Launch is October 21, 2026, and that progress made during Founder's Access carries directly into Grand Launch. The town you pick first is not wiped.
The short version: four job homes and two quest towns
Per mapleclassic.wiki, Classic World launches with two continents: Maple Island (levels 1 to 10) and Victoria Island (level 10 and up). Victoria Island has six towns: Henesys, Ellinia, Perion, Kerning City, Lith Harbor and Sleepywood. Four are job homes, one for each branch: Bowman, Magician, Warrior and Thief. Lith Harbor and Sleepywood have no home class listed.
The design intent reads clearly from the layout. Each job town is a classroom for its branch: you advance there, your first quests start there, and the nearest maps cover the levels you arrive at. That is my reading of the data, not a Nexon statement.
| Town | Home class | First job level | Lowest quest level listed | Highest quest level listed |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Henesys | Bowman | 10 | 10 | 42 |
| Ellinia | Magician | 8 | 10 | 46 |
| Perion | Warrior | 10 | 10 | 50 |
| Kerning City | Thief | 10 | 10 | 46 |
| Lith Harbor | None listed | Not listed | 8 | 45 |
| Sleepywood | None listed | Not listed | 10 | 50 |
The first job column tells you when to arrive: Ellinia advances Magicians at level 8, and the other three job towns advance at level 10. The two quest columns show how long each town stays useful. Perion and Sleepywood run up to level 50, so expect return trips. Lith Harbor starts earliest, at level 8. The quest columns use only rows with a level filled in; Kerning City also lists First Time Together, but with no level, so it is left out.
How to use this tour
- Find your branch. Bowman goes to Henesys, Magician to Ellinia, Warrior to Perion, Thief to Kerning City.
- Check the arrival level. Ellinia is level 8 for first job; the others are level 10.
- Pick a nearby map. Each map below lists a minimum level, a maximum level and its nearest town.
- Run the early quests. Most towns start several quests at level 10 with small EXP rewards.
- Plan return trips. Quest levels in every town stretch well past first job, so each town is a place you revisit.
Henesys: the Bowman home town
Per mapleclassic.wiki, Henesys is where Bowmen make their first job advancement at level 10. The advancement quest is Path of the Bowman, given by Athena Pierce, and it pays 0 EXP and 0 mesos. It is a gate, not a reward.
Past the gate, the list leans on a few recurring NPCs. Bruce starts The Reason Behind the Mushroom Studies at level 10 (171 EXP, 292 mesos) and I Need to Find My Daughter 1 at level 11 (236 EXP, 321 mesos). Chief Stan's Reply follows at level 13 for 420 EXP and 380 mesos. Mrs. Ming Ming's First Worry and Mrs. Ming Ming's Second Worry both sit at level 15 and pay 705 EXP and 438 mesos each.
At level 17, Bruce's Dilemma, A Father's Love for His Daughter and Bruce's Cooking Ingredients appear. At level 27, Mrs. Ming Ming's Concern, Chief Stan's Past and Memories of Youth pay 1968 EXP and 552 mesos each, while Chief Stan's Hammer and Regained Vitality pay 2812 EXP and 789 mesos. The top of the list is Pia's Gift and What Pia Borrowed at level 42, at 5793 EXP and 1228 mesos each.
Nearby maps: Henesys Hunting Ground I (levels 1 to 14), Mushroom Garden (3 to 8), A Hill West of Henesys (4 to 7), Henesys Hunting Ground II (7 to 15) and Henesys Hunting Ground III (8 to 15). No other town has as many low-level maps overlapping.
Ellinia: the Magician home town
Ellinia is the Magician home town, with first job advancement at level 8, two levels earlier than the other branches. Our data does not list an Ellinia advancement quest the way it does for the other three, so this guide cannot give you its giver or rewards. It also does not say how a level 8 character reaches Ellinia.
The listed quests begin at level 10. Francois in Need of an Apprentice pays 171 EXP and 0 mesos; I Need Help on My Homework! pays 171 EXP and 292 mesos. At level 14, How to Enjoy Mushrooms and How to Enjoy Mushrooms Even More pay 546 EXP and 409 mesos each. Two Ellinia quests are marked repeatable: Francois in Need of Help at level 15 (705 EXP, 0 mesos) and Arwen and the Glass Shoe at level 29 (3037 EXP, 848 mesos).
At level 17, Research on Animal Fossils, Progress on Fossil Research and Research on Plant Fossils pay 1104 EXP and 497 mesos each. Level 36 holds a set of Cursed Dolls collection quests from Rowen the Fairy, all paying 4387 EXP and 1053 mesos. The sheet does not say whether they are alternatives or a sequence, so check in game before you start collecting.
At level 39, Tracing the Resonance pays 4200 EXP and 1100 mesos, while The Yawning Abyss pays 1500 EXP and 500 mesos. The top of the list is Delivering the Flying Medicine and The Ingredients for the Flying Medicine at level 46, at 6862 EXP and 1345 mesos each.
Maps: The Tree That Grew III and The Field South of Ellinia both run levels 5 to 14, and The Tree That Grew II runs 6 to 11. Tree Dungeon, Forest Up North I, Dungeon, Southern Forest I and Dungeon, Southern Forest II are each listed at exactly level 6. Tree Dungeon, Forest Up North II is listed at exactly level 11.
Perion: the Warrior home town
Perion is the Warrior home town, with first job advancement at level 10. Path of the Warrior is given by Dances with Balrog and pays 0 EXP and 0 mesos.
Other level 10 quests: The Stump Horror Story (171 EXP, 292 mesos), plus Mr. Thunder in Need of an Apprentice and Silas Irons in Need of an Apprentice (171 EXP, 0 mesos each). I Need to Find My Daughter 2 and Fixing Blackbull's House follow at level 11 for 236 EXP and 321 mesos each. Mr. Thunder in Need of Help and Silas Irons in Need of Help are repeatable at level 15 and pay 705 EXP and 0 mesos.
The Best Dad is level 17 (1104 EXP, 497 mesos). Arcon's Blood? and Getting Arcon's Blood sit at level 21 (2193 EXP, 614 mesos). A Weaponcrafter in My Own Right! and A Blacksmith in My Own Right! are level 25 at 2587 EXP and 0 mesos; the titles suggest crafting, but the sheet does not tie them to a specific profession.
Perion's upper end is the longest of the six. Building a New House For Blackbull, Taking Out the Alligators 1 and Taking Out the Alligators 2 are level 48 at 7425 EXP and 1404 mesos. Old Gladius is level 50 at 7987 EXP and 1462 mesos.
Maps: East Rocky Mountain II (levels 5 to 11), East Rocky Mountain III (11 to 17) and Over the Wall (5 to 23), the widest band among Perion's maps.
Kerning City: the Thief home town
Kerning City is the Thief home town, advancing at level 10. Path of the Thief comes from the Dark Lord at 0 EXP and 0 mesos. Nella gives Don Hwang's Request, Andre's Request and Shumi's Request (171 EXP, 292 mesos each), and JM From tha Streetz Looking for a Partner pays 171 EXP and 0 mesos.
I'm Bored 1 and I'm Bored 2 from Icarus are level 11 at 236 EXP and 321 mesos. JM From tha Streetz in Need of Help is repeatable at level 15 (705 EXP, 0 mesos). Mong from Kong gives It's All in the Mind, Making the Medicine and The Final Ingredient for the Cure at level 17 (1104 EXP, 497 mesos each). Alex's Request is level 18 (959 EXP, 368 mesos), and Proof of Companionship is level 21 (2193 EXP, 614 mesos). At level 22, Chris's Request, Cutthroat Manny's Request and Dr. Faymus's Request pay 2306 EXP and 643 mesos each. A Leatherworker in My Own Right! is level 25 at 2587 EXP and 0 mesos.
One entry deserves a flag. Shumi's Lost Sack of Cash is level 35 and lists 10000 mesos, while Shumi's Lost Roll of Cash and Shumi's Lost Coin list 1023 mesos each at the same level and the same 4162 EXP. The wiki lists it that way, but confirm the figure in game before planning around it. Icarus and the Balloon and Icarus's Hang Glider are level 31 at 3318 EXP and 906 mesos, and In search of Wing the Fairy is level 46 at 4803 EXP and 941 mesos.
First Time Together appears as repeatable, with level, giver, EXP and mesos blank. It is covered in our party quest guides.
Maps: Caution Falling Down (levels 4 to 12), Sunset Sky (4 to 8), Subway Ticketing Booth (6 to 8) and The Swamp of Despair II (6 to 31), the widest range of any map in the table.
Lith Harbor: the quest stop with no job
Lith Harbor has no home class listed, yet it starts quests earlier than any other town. One memory, flagged as memory: in the 2007-era client I treated Lith Harbor as a place you stepped off the boat and left. The wiki data does not say whether Classic World keeps that flow. What it does show is a real quest stop. Phil's Call is level 8 (171 EXP, 204 mesos), and Olaf's First Training, Olaf's Second Training, Teo's Weird Hobby and Teo's Even Weirder Hobby are all level 8 at 84 EXP and 234 mesos.
Later entries: Grandfather's Vitamin Gummy at level 17 (1104 EXP, 497 mesos), Jane and the Mushroom at level 20 (2021 EXP, 585 mesos), and Delivering the Weird Medicine and Finding Sophia at level 21 (2193 EXP, 614 mesos). At level 44, Jane's First Challenge, Jane's Second Challenge and Jane's Final Challenge pay 6300 EXP and 1287 mesos each. At level 45, John's Present, John's Pink Flower Basket and John's Last Present pay 6581 EXP and 1316 mesos each.
The nearby maps are the gentlest on the mainland: Right Around Lith Harbor (levels 1 to 2), Thicket Around the Beach I (1 to 4), Thicket Around the Beach II and Thicket Around the Beach III (2 to 4) and Beach Hunting Ground (7 to 10). The Pig Beach is a Hidden Street map listed at levels 2 to 28. In Classic World today, Lith Harbor is a gentle first stop with plenty of quests, not a branch hub.
Sleepywood: the late quest town
Sleepywood has no home class listed, and the wiki's map table names no map with Sleepywood as its nearest town, so this guide cannot tell you where to train from there. The quest list is short and skews high.
Chrishrama in Need of an Apprentice is level 10 (171 EXP, 0 mesos), and Chrishrama in Need of Help is repeatable at level 15 (705 EXP, 0 mesos). Sabitrama and the Diet Medicine and Sabitrama's Anti-Aging Medicine sit at level 25 for 2587 EXP and 731 mesos, alongside An Arcforger in My Own Right! (2587 EXP, 0 mesos). Hero's Gladius and Reawakening the Gladius, both level 50, pay 7987 EXP and 1462 mesos each. Perion's Old Gladius has the same level and rewards, but the sheet does not say the chains are connected.
Training ranges at a glance
| Town | Lowest map minimum level | Highest map maximum level | Map with that maximum |
|---|---|---|---|
| Henesys | 1 | 15 | Henesys Hunting Ground II and Henesys Hunting Ground III |
| Ellinia | 5 | 14 | The Tree That Grew III and The Field South of Ellinia |
| Perion | 5 | 23 | Over the Wall |
| Kerning City | 4 | 31 | The Swamp of Despair II |
| Lith Harbor | 1 | 28 | The Pig Beach |
| Sleepywood | Not listed | Not listed | None listed |
This table shows each town's mapped level span, not its quality. Henesys and Lith Harbor start lowest, at level 1. Kerning City and Lith Harbor reach highest, but those ceilings come from single wide maps (The Swamp of Despair II and The Pig Beach), not a spread of dedicated hunting grounds. Henesys is the only town with several maps overlapping between levels 7 and 14.
What the data does not tell us
- No monster spawn counts per map are recorded, so we cannot rank maps by crowd size.
- No drop rates are listed yet.
- The sheet does not say which monsters live on which map.
- The quest lists show only quests that start in each town. Per mapleclassic.wiki there are 221 quests at launch overall, and the town lists here are not a full count.
- Travel routes between towns, and how a level 8 Magician reaches Ellinia, are not covered.
What is not on this map
Per mapleclassic.wiki, Orbis, El Nath and the rest of Ossyria are held back, to be reworked and introduced gradually after launch. Third job advancement is not available at launch, so these six towns hold your first and second job story. Nothing from after the Big Bang update is part of Classic World: no Pirates, Cygnus Knights, Aran or Evan, and no later continents.
