MapleStory Classic World first opened on October 6, 2026 at 6:00 PM UTC. Nexon called the release Founder's Access. Per mapleclassic.wiki, which follows Nexon's release notes, it was version 0.9.0 and a major patch. It ran two weeks before the Grand Launch on October 21, 2026.
Who could get in
Access was limited to owners of a Zakum or Orange Mushroom Founder's Package. The wiki records that packages sold on the Nexon website and on Steam until October 14, 2026 at 11:59 PM PDT. Existing packages could be upgraded until then.
Every package item is cosmetic and gives no stats. Items arrive in the in-game mailbox and can be claimed until November 30, 2026 at 11:59 PM UTC. A package can be claimed once per account on each platform. The items open only after a character has left Maple Island, and they must be opened within 30 days of being claimed.
The wiki lists Windows and macOS support. The game runs in English or in Spanish (Beta).
What the world contained
The release covered Maple Island and Victoria Island. The level cap was 100. An account holds up to three characters. Every character starts as a Beginner on Maple Island.
Forgotten Hollow was closed. Nexon says the way there has not been found yet and that it will open later.
Jobs
The wiki lists four job branches with their 2nd jobs. The 1st job advancement is at level 10 and the 2nd at level 30.
Warrior: Dances with Balrog in Perion. 2nd jobs are Fighter, Page and Spearman.
Magician: Grendel the Really Old in Ellinia. 2nd jobs are Wizard (Fire/Poison), Wizard (Ice/Lightning) and Cleric.
Bowman: Athena Pierce in Henesys. 2nd jobs are Hunter and Crossbowman.
Thief: Dark Lord in Kerning City. 2nd jobs are Assassin and Bandit.
Nothing beyond the 2nd job was part of this release.
The wiki also lists the First Time Together party quest. It is the Kerning City party quest, open from level 21, and it starts with Lakelis. The party solves puzzles and fights monsters. It ends against King Slime. On October 8, Nexon limited it to channels 3 to 6, because channels 1 and 2 were crowded.
New systems
Nexon presents three systems as new in Classic World.
Beauty Album: stores hairstyles, face styles and skin colors so a saved look can be restored later.
Crafting: opens at level 10. Six crafting masters each teach a profession: Smithing, Weaponcrafting, Tailoring, Woodcrafting, Leatherworking and Arcforge.
Citizenship: opens at level 12. A character becomes a citizen of Henesys through Arthur in the Henesys Town Hall, or of Kerning City through Roxy in the Kerning City Civic Center. Citizens get access to a specialty shop and pay less for some services.
Events and the Cash Shop
From October 6 to October 20, 2026, characters of level 10 or higher could take the Founder's First Step quest from the Maple Administrator. Rewards follow the number of check-in days, not the calendar.
Game Masters also ran events at set dates, with times in UTC. The wiki lists the Physical Fitness Challenge, Coconut Harvest and Up and Up. Town invasions took place on October 11, 16 and 20, with the five bosses summoned in towns.
The Cash Shop opened with Early Access. Per the wiki, the Founder's Mystery Fashion Crate cost 3,500 NX and ran until October 28. Gifting works from level 12.
What was announced for the Grand Launch
The wiki records that accounts which finished the event quests of the first and second Closed Online Tests can claim the Classic Beginnings Label Ring or its chat ring at the Grand Launch. The Mark of the Beta event begins at the Grand Launch.
The wiki notes that its infobox defaults are not a check against the client, so a player should confirm any detail in game.
