After reading this guide you will be able to name all six bosses in MapleStory Classic World, find the map each one spawns on, and judge which ones fit your character before you walk in. Every in-game number below comes from mapleclassic.wiki; dates come from Nexon's FAQ. The stats are per kill, not per hour, because the wiki lists no kill times, no damage figures and no drop rates yet. No class, party size or potion budget is assumed, so where advice depends on one, the condition is stated in the sentence.
Classic World runs inside the Global MapleStory (GMS) client and recreates pre-Big Bang MapleStory. Founder's Access opens October 6, 2026 and Grand Launch is October 21, 2026, per Nexon's FAQ. Per mapleclassic.wiki, the launch game has 66 monsters including six bosses. Those six are Mano, King Slime, Mushmom, Zombie Mushmom, Rotten Mushmom and Jr. Balrog.
The six launch bosses at a glance
Here are the stats per mapleclassic.wiki, sorted by level. EXP is the amount listed per kill.
| Boss | Level | HP | MP | EXP per kill | Listed respawn |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Mano | 20 | 7420 | 30 | 148 | 30 minutes |
| King Slime | 32 | 16820 | 100 | 248 | Not listed |
| Mushmom | 40 | 34440 | 200 | 376 | 30 minutes |
| Zombie Mushmom | 50 | 53640 | 220 | 568 | 30 minutes |
| Rotten Mushmom | 60 | 86400 | 200 | 852 | 30 minutes |
| Jr. Balrog | 80 | 325400 | 500 | 1612 | Map table lists 10800 seconds |
The pattern is steady until the last row. Each boss has more HP and pays more EXP per kill than the one before it. Jr. Balrog breaks the pattern: its 325400 HP is far above the 86400 HP of Rotten Mushmom, while its 1612 EXP per kill is roughly double the 852 EXP of Rotten Mushmom. We say "roughly" because we are not rounding a synced number, only describing the gap. The wiki does not say how long a kill takes, so you cannot turn these rows into EXP per hour yet. Do not trust anyone who quotes an hourly figure before launch.
Where each boss spawns
Per mapleclassic.wiki, every boss has a primary spawn map, and each map holds one of that boss. The table below shows what is listed. Blank cells are blanks in the source, not our omissions.
| Boss | Spawn map | Region | Map level | Count on map | Respawn (s) |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Mano | Thicket Around the Beach III | Victoria Island | 2-4 | 1 | 1800 |
| King Slime | 1st Accompaniment (Last Stage) | Hidden Street | Not listed | 1 | Not listed |
| Mushmom | Someone Else's House | Victoria Island | Not listed | 1 | 1800 |
| Zombie Mushmom | The Grave of Mushmom | Victoria Island | 24-50 | 1 | 1800 |
| Rotten Mushmom | Someone Else's Grave | Victoria Island | Not listed | 1 | 1800 |
| Jr. Balrog | The Cursed Sanctuary | Victoria Island | 80 | 1 | 10800 |
Two things stand out. First, the four bosses with a listed respawn of 1800 seconds match the 30 minutes in the stat table, so a boss killed on those maps comes back after the same wait. Jr. Balrog is on a much longer clock: 10800 seconds against 1800 seconds for the others, which is six times as long (10800 divided by 1800). Second, King Slime is the odd one out. Its map sits under the Hidden Street region rather than Victoria Island, and no respawn is listed, so we cannot tell you whether it is a fixed-timer boss or an event-style encounter. We will not guess.
With one boss per map, every kill by another player means waiting out the respawn. The wiki records no channel or crowding data, so we cannot say how contested these maps will be at launch.
Boss by boss: who should fight it
Advice here is conditional. We have boss stats but no player damage numbers, so the level comparisons below only say how far a boss sits above or below a given character level.
Mano, level 20
Mano is the entry point: 7420 HP, 30 MP and 148 EXP per kill. It spawns on Thicket Around the Beach III, a map listed at level 2 to 4, with a respawn of 1800 seconds. A character at or near level 20 in a party is the obvious fit. A character well below level 20 should treat Mano as a goal rather than a target. Its drops list names Rainbow-colored Snail Shell and Scroll Crafting Stimulator, with no rates.
King Slime, level 32
King Slime has 16820 HP, 100 MP and 248 EXP per kill. The wiki lists no weakness (weak to None) and four resistances: Fire, Holy, Ice and Lightning. If your build leans on one of those elements, it is a poor match at level 32. The quest Proof of Companionship is listed at level 21 and involves hunting King Slime. That is the only quest link in the data. The wiki does not give the quest's rewards or say whether the boss kill is mandatory, so read the quest text in game. King Slime's drops list names Companion's Magic Box and Squishy Shoes. It spawns on 1st Accompaniment (Last Stage).
Mushmom, level 40
Mushmom has 34440 HP, 200 MP and 376 EXP per kill, and it spawns in Someone Else's House with a respawn of 1800 seconds. No weakness or resistance is listed for it, so element choice matters less here than at the next three bosses. A level 40 character in a party is the cleanest assumption; a solo run depends on damage the wiki does not record. Drops named: Mushmom Spore, Ilbi Throwing Stars, Orange Whitebottom Boots and an item listed only as Intermediate.
Zombie Mushmom, level 50
Zombie Mushmom is undead, with 53640 HP, 220 MP and 568 EXP per kill. It is weak to Holy and resists Poison. A Poison-based build will do poorly here, and a Holy attacker has the edge. It spawns in The Grave of Mushmom, a map listed at level 24 to 50, with a 1800-second respawn. Drops named: Poisonous Mushroom, Earring Crit. Damage Scroll: Intermediate, Earring Crit. Damage Scroll: Greater, Scroll Crafting Stimulator, Equipment Crafting Stimulator and Ilbi Throwing Stars.
Rotten Mushmom, level 60
Rotten Mushmom is also undead: 86400 HP, 200 MP and 852 EXP per kill. It is weak to Fire and Holy and resists Poison. At level 60, a party with Fire or Holy damage has two ways to exploit it, and a Poison build should look elsewhere. It spawns in Someone Else's Grave with a 1800-second respawn. Drops named: Rotten Mushmom Cap, Intermediate, Equipment Crafting Stimulator, Scroll Crafting Stimulator, White Potion and Blue Potion.
Jr. Balrog, level 80
Jr. Balrog is the top of the launch boss ladder: 325400 HP, 500 MP and 1612 EXP per kill. It is weak to Holy and resists Poison. It spawns in The Cursed Sanctuary, a map listed at level 80, with a respawn of 10800 seconds. With that long a respawn, plan for one attempt per window rather than farming. Drops named: White Potion, Blue Potion, Elixir and Scroll Crafting Stimulator. The wiki lists no rates for any of them.
Elements: what to bring and what to leave at home
The table collects what mapleclassic.wiki lists for each boss. Read it before choosing skills or consumables for a specific fight.
| Boss | Level | Undead | Weak to | Resists |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Mano | 20 | Not listed | Not listed | Not listed |
| King Slime | 32 | Not listed | None | Fire, Holy, Ice, Lightning |
| Mushmom | 40 | Not listed | Not listed | Not listed |
| Zombie Mushmom | 50 | Yes | Holy | Poison |
| Rotten Mushmom | 60 | Yes | Fire, Holy | Poison |
| Jr. Balrog | 80 | Not listed | Holy | Poison |
Holy shows up as a weakness three times, in Zombie Mushmom, Rotten Mushmom and Jr. Balrog, and as a resistance once, in King Slime. Poison is resisted by the same three upper bosses. The wiki does not say which skills deal which element, so check the skill descriptions in game rather than assuming from a class name. It also does not list how large a weakness bonus is, so we cannot give a damage multiplier.
Drops: what is listed and what is not
The wiki names drops for every boss but gives no minimum, maximum or rate for any of them. That means you cannot calculate a drop chance per kill, and nothing here should be read as a promise that an item will fall.
| Boss | Drops named | Rates listed |
|---|---|---|
| Mano | Rainbow-colored Snail Shell, Scroll Crafting Stimulator | No |
| King Slime | Companion's Magic Box, Squishy Shoes | No |
| Mushmom | Mushmom Spore, Ilbi Throwing Stars, Orange Whitebottom Boots, Intermediate | No |
| Zombie Mushmom | Poisonous Mushroom, two Earring Crit. Damage Scrolls, two Crafting Stimulators, Ilbi Throwing Stars | No |
| Rotten Mushmom | Rotten Mushmom Cap, Intermediate, two Crafting Stimulators, White Potion, Blue Potion | No |
| Jr. Balrog | White Potion, Blue Potion, Elixir, Scroll Crafting Stimulator | No |
Scroll Crafting Stimulator appears on Mano, Zombie Mushmom, Rotten Mushmom and Jr. Balrog lists. Equipment Crafting Stimulator appears on the Zombie Mushmom and Rotten Mushmom lists. Per mapleclassic.wiki, Classic World launches with six crafting professions, so crafting materials from bosses may matter; the wiki does not say which recipes use them. The two potion types and the Elixir on the upper bosses suggest supply value, but with no rates we will not claim a payoff.
How to plan a boss run
- Check the level gap. Compare your level with the boss level in the first table. A boss many levels above you is a long-term goal, not tonight's target.
- Find the map. Use the spawn table. Remember King Slime is listed under Hidden Street, not Victoria Island, and its respawn is not listed.
- Match elements. Look at the weakness table. Leave Poison attacks behind for Zombie Mushmom, Rotten Mushmom and Jr. Balrog, and avoid Fire, Holy, Ice and Lightning against King Slime.
- Decide solo or party. The wiki records no party-size data, so this call is yours. The higher the HP, the more a party helps; 325400 HP on Jr. Balrog is the clearest case.
- Respect the timer. Four bosses list 1800 seconds and Jr. Balrog lists 10800 seconds. If someone else clears the map, you wait.
- Keep expectations honest. EXP per kill is listed; drops and clear times are not.
What is not in the launch boss list
Per mapleclassic.wiki, Zakum is the name of the top Founder's Package tier, not a boss you can fight at launch. The six bosses above are the full launch list. Orbis, El Nath and the rest of Ossyria are held back, third job advancement is not available, and nothing from after the Big Bang update is included. Jr. Balrog at level 80 is therefore the ceiling of the boss ladder you can reach at launch. Launch content covers Maple Island (levels 1 to 10) and Victoria Island, with first and second job advancement only. Nexon's FAQ says progress made during Founder's Access, which starts October 6, 2026, carries into Grand Launch on October 21, 2026, so early boss progress is not wiped.
As more data lands, including drop rates, kill times and the King Slime respawn, this guide will be the place to look for per-kill and per-hour comparisons. Until then, the six rows above are the whole verified picture.
