After reading this guide you will be able to find Mano on the map, read its listed stats, budget your time around its respawn, and work out for yourself whether your character is ready. Every number below comes from the fact sheet this site works from: mapleclassic.wiki for in-game figures and Nexon's Founder's Access release notes for which bosses are open to challenge. Where those sources say nothing, this guide says so rather than guessing.
Assumptions. I am assuming a character that has already reached Victoria Island (level 10 and up), attempting the fight in Founder's Access, which opens October 6, 2026, with progress carrying into Grand Launch on October 21, 2026. No class, party size or potion budget is listed for this boss, so I do not claim any. Where I give a plan, it is a method you apply to your own numbers, not a result.
Is Mano available in Classic World?
Yes. Nexon's Founder's Access release notes list five bosses you can challenge in MapleStory Classic World: Mano, Mushmom, Shade, Zombie Mushmom and Jr. Balrog. King Slime is a separate fight, but it sits inside the Kerning City Party Quest and is not an open-field boss. Rotten Mushmom belongs to Forgotten Hollow, which is closed for now, so it cannot be reached.
Do not confuse the boss list with the Founder's Package tiers. Zakum is only the name of the top package tier, and there is no Zakum boss fight at launch. Mano is one of the bosses with a full stat line on mapleclassic.wiki, which makes it easy to plan around. Shade, by contrast, is not yet documented there.
Where Mano spawns
Per mapleclassic.wiki, Mano has one primary location: Thicket Around the Beach III. The table below is the whole spawn record.
| Map | Region | Map level | Count on map | Respawn (s) |
|---|
| Thicket Around the Beach III | Victoria Island | 2-4 | 1 | 1800 |
A few points stand out. First, there is only one Mano on the map, so you are not choosing between several spawns. Second, the map level is listed as 2-4, while Mano itself is listed at level 20. The wiki does not explain the gap, and I will not guess at it; treat the map level as a label for the map, not as a measure of the boss. Third, the respawn is 1800 seconds, which matches the listed 30 minutes in the stat table below (the same figure in two units).
If you share the map with other players, a single spawn means one kill is all anyone gets per respawn window. The fact sheet does not say how contested Thicket Around the Beach III will be, so I cannot tell you how many attempts you will realistically get per hour.
Mano stats at a glance
| Stat | Listed value |
|---|
| Level | 20 |
| HP | 7420 |
| MP | 30 |
| EXP per kill | 148 |
| Type | Boss |
| Listed respawn | 30 minutes |
| Primary location | Thicket Around the Beach III |
The headline figure is 7420 HP. That is the total damage your character, or your party, has to deal before the boss falls. The 30 MP is a listed value, but nothing in the fact sheet says Mano uses it for any attack, so it is not something you can plan around. The 148 EXP is what one kill pays, and it is the only reward number we have.
The level 20 listing matters most. A character below level 20 is fighting a monster above its own level, and the fact sheet does not list Mano's damage, accuracy or avoidance. So I cannot say what level clears it solo, and I will not invent a threshold. The honest framing is: the boss is level 20, the HP is 7420, and the rest you test.
Weaknesses: what is and is not listed
The fact sheet has no elemental weakness, no resistances and no attack list for Mano. Anyone who tells you a specific element or skill is the answer is working from outside the sources this site uses. What you can do instead is measure, which the next section turns into a repeatable check.
Can your character fight Mano? A numbered check
- Write down your damage per hit. Take it from your own skill tooltip or from a target you have already fought. Our Second Job Attack Skills Compared guide covers damage, hits and MP per skill.
- Divide 7420 HP by that damage per hit. The result is the number of landed hits needed. If you use a multi-hit skill, divide by the damage of one full skill use instead.
- Count your MP and potions against that number. If your skill costs MP per use, multiply the uses needed by the cost. If that total is more than your MP pool plus the potions you are willing to spend, you will fall short in a single attempt.
- Decide solo or party. The fact sheet lists no party size for Mano. A party splits the work, but with one boss per respawn you also split the one reward.
- Set a stop rule. Decide in advance how many attempts you will make in a session, because a missed kill costs you a full respawn window.
This is arithmetic on your own numbers plus the one fixed number from the sheet, 7420 HP. It gives you a real answer for your character at your level, which is better than a blanket recommendation. If a guide says Mano is easy at level 20 as a Warrior without showing the damage math, treat it as unverified.
Respawn and how long to budget
The listed respawn is 30 minutes, and the spawn table agrees at 1800 seconds. Because the count on the map is 1, the most you can collect from the spawn is one kill per 30 minute window. That makes the EXP ceiling simple: 148 EXP per kill, one kill per 30 minute respawn, shared among whoever lands the kill.
What this does not give us is a reliable per-hour figure for your own play. A real per-hour rate would need inputs the fact sheet lacks: how long a kill takes your character, how often other players beat you to it, and whether the timer starts when the boss dies or when the map resets. Until those are tested, the only safe budget is this: plan for the length of your fight plus the full 30 minute respawn for each additional attempt.
A practical way to use the wait is to treat Mano as a pause point in a longer route, not a place to stand. Camping the spot buys you nothing between kills, and our EXP per Hour Math for Classic World Training Spots guide shows how to compare a boss window against ordinary training on a per-hour basis.
Mano drops
The wiki lists two drops for Mano. It lists no minimum quantity, no maximum quantity and no drop rate for either, so those columns are blank in the source.
| Item | Category | Min | Max | Rate % |
|---|
| Rainbow-colored Snail Shell | use | not listed | not listed | not listed |
| Scroll Crafting Stimulator | etc | not listed | not listed | not listed |
The categories tell you only how the game files the items: the Rainbow-colored Snail Shell is a use item, and the Scroll Crafting Stimulator is an etc item. The fact sheet does not describe what either one does, what they sell for, or how often they appear. So I will not give you an expected value per kill or a meso value per hour. Crafting does open from level 10 at launch, with six crafting NPCs, but the sheet does not connect the Scroll Crafting Stimulator to any of them, so I will not claim a link.
If you want to know how often these drop, the only route is your own kill log. Record each kill and whether either item appeared; after enough kills you will have a rate of your own, and you can compare it with the wiki when it publishes one.
Who should fight Mano, and when
With only a level, an HP total and an EXP value, the fair answer is conditional.
- If your damage math from the check above fits your MP and potion limit, a solo attempt is reasonable at whatever level you reach that point. The sheet does not name that level.
- If it does not fit, a party is the standard fix, since the 7420 HP is split across more attackers. The sheet lists no party size and no reward split, so agree on one before you start.
- If you are mainly chasing EXP, note that 148 EXP per kill, one kill per 30 minutes, is a ceiling and not a rate. Compare it against the training spots in our Training Spots for Levels 20 to 30, Ranked by EXP per HP guide before committing a session.
- If you are mainly chasing the two drops, remember there is no listed rate, so you are testing, not farming a known number.
Nothing about this fight requires third job, which is not available at launch. Everything here sits inside the first and second job range that Classic World opens with.
What the data does not tell us
- No recommended level or class for the fight.
- No damage, accuracy, avoidance or attack pattern for the boss.
- No weaknesses or resistances.
- No drop rates and no min or max quantities for either drop.
- No spawn count beyond the single Mano on Thicket Around the Beach III.
- No meso reward listed.
As more sourced numbers appear on mapleclassic.wiki or in Nexon's notes, this guide should be rechecked against them. Until then, 7420 HP, level 20, 148 EXP and a 30 minute respawn are the figures you can plan around.
