After reading this you will be able to pick a Victoria Island map for levels 10 to 20 in MapleStory Classic World, using EXP per HP and the per-map monster counts recorded by mapleclassic.wiki. Classic World runs inside the Global MapleStory (GMS) client and recreates pre-Big Bang MapleStory. Victoria Island, where level 10 and up content lives, is the only continent a character in this band can hunt on.
Assumptions first. The fact sheet behind this guide does not record your damage, your class, your party size or your potion budget. The ranking below is therefore class-neutral and assumes a solo player. EXP per HP measures how much EXP a monster pays for each HP point you have to remove. It is not an EXP per hour figure. No kill speed, respawn timer or drop rate is recorded, so any claim about pace per hour is a claim about what the data does not show.
The ranking table
Per mapleclassic.wiki, Classic World's monster table holds 66 monsters at launch. Our data says 16 monsters are in range for this band, but the ranking it supplies lists 10 of them, sorted by EXP per HP (our derived ranking). Values are copied as listed and not rounded further. The last column gives the densest single map and its monster count.

Reading the table: which rows are really in the band
The raw ranking puts Jr. Necki on top at 0.143 EXP per HP, but its listed level is 21, just above the band. Horny Mushroom is listed at level 22. Orange Mushroom (level 8) and Pig (level 7) sit below the band. They are useful as a reference for what low-level monsters pay: at 15 EXP and 13 EXP per kill, they pay the least in the table.
Filtering to monsters whose listed level falls from 10 to 20 gives this order by EXP per HP:
Stirge (level 20): 0.125 EXP per HP, 37 EXP per kill at 296 HP.
Octopus (level 12): 0.12 EXP per HP, 23 EXP per kill at 191 HP.
Green Mushroom (level 14): 0.112 EXP per HP, 26 EXP per kill at 233 HP.
Ribbon Pig (level 10): 0.11 EXP per HP, 19 EXP per kill at 172 HP.
Bubbling (level 15): 0.108 EXP per HP, 28 EXP per kill at 259 HP.
Blue Mushroom (level 19): 0.102 EXP per HP, 35 EXP per kill at 342 HP.
The spread is narrower than the rank numbers suggest. Stirge at 0.125 and Blue Mushroom at 0.102 differ by 0.023 EXP per HP (0.125 minus 0.102). Whether that gap matters depends on how your class deals damage, and the data has no damage figures. Blue Mushroom, Horny Mushroom and Pig all list 0.102, so this measure does not separate them.
EXP per kill and EXP per HP can point in different directions. Blue Mushroom pays 35 EXP per kill against Octopus at 23 EXP per kill, but it carries 342 HP against Octopus at 191 HP. A class that kills in few hits cares more about EXP per kill. A class that chips away at HP points cares more about EXP per HP. The data cannot tell you which one you are.
Where each in-band monster lives
The counts below are the per-map monster counts recorded by mapleclassic.wiki. They are a snapshot of how many of that monster the map holds. They are not a spawn rate or a respawn timer, and neither is recorded. Read a count as a rough guide to how many targets stand in reach at once.
Stirge (level 20)
Dangerous Steam (38) and Transfer Area (38)
Dark Cave (35)
Line 1 (Area 2) (21)
Line 1 (Area 3) (18)
Stirge is the top in-band monster by EXP per HP, and its densest maps are the thickest in this group apart from Bubbling's single large map. If you are near the top of the band, check these five maps first.
Octopus is weak to Lightning in the data. The Kerning City construction maps hold it alongside other monsters: Caution Falling Down also lists Orange Mushroom (5) and Blue Mushroom (3), so those maps mix targets.
Green Mushroom has the widest spread of maps in the table, with a long tail of smaller maps beyond those listed. Its weakness entry reads None. That helps if you want a monster with no element to plan around, which is a condition of this recommendation and not a general one. Henesys Hunting Ground III is the Henesys-area entry on the list, and it also holds Orange Mushroom (11).
Ribbon Pig (level 10)
L Forest I (21)
The Forest East of Henesys (11)
A Hill West of Henesys (10) and L Forest II (10)
The Pig Beach (8)
L Forest III (7) and The Road to the Dungeon (7)
Ribbon Pig is the entry point to the band at level 10. On L Forest I it shares the map with Pig (9) and Orange Mushroom (7), so you meet lower-level monsters there as well.
Bubbling (level 15)
Line 1 (Area 1) (64)
B1 (Subway Depot) (9)
Line 1 (Area 1) holds 64 Bubbling, the largest single-map count in the whole table. B1 (Subway Depot) holds 9. Bubbling is weak to Lightning in the data. High density helps only if your class can reach many targets at once, and the data says nothing about that.
Golem's Temple III (5) and Henesys Dungeon Entrance (5)
Golem's Temple II (4)
Blue Mushroom has the highest HP of the in-band monsters at 342 HP, and it ranks last of them on EXP per HP. It pays 35 EXP per kill, so it suits a class that already kills quickly.
Class notes
The weakness column is sparse: Octopus and Bubbling are weak to Lightning, Green Mushroom lists None, and the rest are blank. The data lists no skill damage, no accuracy figures and no class-by-class kill speed. The notes below are conditions, not verdicts.
Magician at levels 10 to 20, solo: if you have a Lightning-element attack available, Octopus and Bubbling are the two in-band monsters flagged as weak to it. Check your skill's element in game first; the data does not say which skills are Lightning.
Warrior, Bowman and Thief: no weakness is listed for these branches' typical attacks, so lean on EXP per HP and the map counts and judge pace yourself. Our published Thief Guide covers levels 10 to 30 for that branch.
Any class with low Accuracy: a missed hit adds no damage, and no per-monster avoidability data is recorded here. Our published guide on Accuracy and Avoidability explains why you miss.
Party play: party size is not in the data, so no per-person figure is possible. Party members must be on the same channel, per Nexon's FAQ.
How to use the ranking: steps
Note your level and class. At level 10, start from Ribbon Pig and Octopus; near level 20, look at Stirge and Blue Mushroom.
Choose a monster from the in-band list by EXP per HP, or by EXP per kill if your class kills in few hits.
Pick a map from the lists above and compare the counts. A higher count means more targets on the map at once; it does not record respawn speed.
Clear a handful of kills and watch how much of your EXP bar each one fills. That in-game check replaces the per hour figure the data cannot provide.
If the map is crowded, change channel. Per Nexon's FAQ, monsters, drops and quests are identical on every channel and only the players differ. Windia had 20 channels as of October 14, 2026.
What the data does not tell us
No per hour EXP. There is no respawn timer and no kill speed, so no per hour result can be derived.
No drop rates. Mesos and item drops are not part of this ranking, so a slower monster may still be worth more once drops are counted.
Incomplete list. The data says 16 monsters are in range but supplies only the 10 rows above, and four of those sit outside levels 10 to 20 by listed level. The remaining monsters are not listed here.
Level gap effects. No EXP penalty or bonus for fighting a monster above or below your level is recorded, so Jr. Necki, Horny Mushroom, Orange Mushroom and Pig are shown at face value.
Weakness data is sparse. Only Octopus, Bubbling and Green Mushroom have an entry.
Everything above is on Victoria Island. Third job, Orbis, El Nath and the rest of Ossyria are held back, per mapleclassic.wiki. Forgotten Hollow is not reachable yet either, per Nexon, so no map in this guide depends on content that has not opened. When you outgrow this band, our guide to Victoria Island training without Ossyria picks up where this one stops.

Frequently asked
What is the best monster to train on at levels 10 to 20 in Classic World?
There is no single answer without your class and damage. By EXP per HP in this data, Stirge (level 20, 0.125) leads the in-band monsters, followed by Octopus (level 12, 0.12) and Green Mushroom (level 14, 0.112).
Where can I find the most monsters on one map at levels 10 to 20?
Per mapleclassic.wiki, Line 1 (Area 1) holds 64 Bubbling, the largest count in the table. Stirge maps follow, with Dangerous Steam and Transfer Area at 38 each and Dark Cave at 35.
Which monsters are weak to Lightning at levels 10 to 20?
Octopus and Bubbling are listed as weak to Lightning. Green Mushroom lists None, and the other monsters in the table have no weakness recorded.
Does Classic World list EXP per hour for these monsters?
No. The data records EXP per kill, HP and per-map monster counts, but no respawn timer or kill speed, so an EXP per hour figure cannot be derived from it.
What do I do if a training map is full?
Change channel. Nexon's FAQ says monsters, drops and quests are identical on every channel, and only the players differ. Windia had 20 channels as of October 14, 2026.
Can I train in Forgotten Hollow or Ossyria at levels 10 to 20?
No. Nexon says Forgotten Hollow is not available yet, and mapleclassic.wiki says Orbis, El Nath and the rest of Ossyria are held back at launch.
