After reading this you will be able to choose between five Warrior loadouts in MapleStory Classic World, know which skills each one needs first, and see which numbers the sources record and which they do not. The reference loadouts for this class are built around weapon families, so this guide compares them the same way: by second job, weapon category, skill chain and the monsters worth hitting at level 30.
Assumptions for every result below: a Warrior who has just reached level 30 in Classic World, playing solo, with Victoria Island content only and no potion budget stated, because no potion figures are in the data used here. Second job advancement happens at level 30 in Perion, so this is the moment the choice becomes permanent in practice. Nothing here assumes third job, which is not available at launch.
What the sources give us, and what they do not
The Warrior branch has one primary stat, STR, and the three second jobs (Fighter, Page and Spearman) all use STR as well. First job advancement happens at level 10 in Perion and has a gate of STR 35. The instructor is Dances with Balrog in Warrior Sanctuary, Perion, who handles both first and second job advancement for the branch.
Here is the limit of the data. The sheet behind this guide lists weapon categories (Sword, Axe, Blunt weapon, Spear, Polearm) and does not split them into one-handed and two-handed versions. It also does not list a per-loadout AP spread, an equipment set, or the stats of a scrolled weapon. Because the guide may only quote figures from that data, we do not print a spread such as a STR and DEX split, and we do not print an attack value for a scrolled weapon. What we can do is show the skill structure, which is recorded, and explain what it implies for each loadout.
Five loadouts at a glance
The table groups the loadouts by second job and weapon category. Weapon categories come from the class data: Fighter uses Sword or Axe, Page uses Sword or Blunt weapon, and Spearman uses Spear or Polearm. Skill levels shown are the minimum prerequisite levels the data records, not a recommended spend.
| Loadout | Second job | Weapon category | Mastery and Booster chain | Final Attack (MP cost range) | Extra skill |
|---|
| 1 | Fighter | Sword | Sword Mastery, then Sword Booster (needs Sword Mastery Lv 5) | Final Attack: Sword, 10 to 18 | Rage |
| 2 | Fighter | Axe | Axe Mastery, then Axe Booster (needs Axe Mastery Lv 5) | Final Attack: Axe, 10 to 18 | Rage |
| 3 | Page | Blunt weapon | Blunt Weapon Mastery, then Blunt Weapon Booster (needs Blunt Weapon Mastery Lv 5) | Final Attack: Blunt Weapon, 8 to 16 | Threaten |
| 4 | Spearman | Polearm | Polearm Mastery, then Polearm Booster (needs Polearm Mastery Lv 5) | Final Attack: Polearm, 8 to 16 | Iron Will |
| 5 | Spearman | Spear | Spear Mastery, then Spear Booster (needs Spear Mastery Lv 5) | Final Attack: Spear, 8 to 16 | Iron Will |
Read the table by columns. Every loadout follows the same shape: a Mastery skill at the root, a Booster that needs Mastery at Lv 5, and a Final Attack that needs Mastery at Lv 3. The Mastery skill is therefore the first point you spend in any of the five, and the weapon you carry decides which Mastery that is. A sixth combination, Page with a Sword, shares the Sword Mastery chain with loadout 1, and the data shows one useful difference: Final Attack: Sword costs 8 to 16 MP for a Page and 10 to 18 MP for a Fighter.
The Warrior skills you carry into every loadout
Before the second job, the Warrior's own skills are the same in all five loadouts. They are worth reading first because they set your damage floor at level 30 regardless of weapon.
| Skill | Max level | MP cost | Damage % | Hits | Targets | Requires |
|---|
| Power Strike | 20 | 4 to 12 | 260 | 1 | 1 | None |
| Slash Blast | 20 | 6 to 14 | 130 | 1 | 1 | Power Strike Lv 1 |
| Improved HP Recovery | 15 | Not listed | Not listed | Not listed | Not listed | None |
| Max HP Increase | 15 | Not listed | Not listed | Not listed | Not listed | Improved HP Recovery Lv 3 |
| Iron Body | 20 | 15 | Not listed | Not listed | Not listed | Max HP Increase Lv 3 |
| Precise Strikes | 15 | Not listed | Not listed | Not listed | Not listed | None |
The prose point: Power Strike carries a damage percent of 260 on one target in one hit, and Slash Blast carries 130 on one target in one hit. Per hit, then, Power Strike is double Slash Blast (260 against 130), and its MP cost range of 4 to 12 sits below Slash Blast's 6 to 14. On those numbers alone, Power Strike is the attack to build around at level 30 as a solo Warrior. The data does not record attack speed, so it cannot say which of the two lands more hits per hour. Slash Blast also requires Power Strike at Lv 1, so the chain is fixed.
The survival chain is also fixed: Improved HP Recovery at Lv 3 unlocks Max HP Increase, and Max HP Increase at Lv 3 unlocks Iron Body. None of the sources we work from list a damage figure or HP value for these skills, so we cannot say how much HP a given level adds. Every element column for the Warrior skills is empty, which matters in the training section below.
What each loadout is good at
Because no spread or scrolled weapon stats are listed, the comparison rests on the recorded skill shapes. Treat these as conditions, not rankings: each holds at level 30, solo, on Victoria Island.
- Loadout 1, Fighter with a Sword. The Sword chain is the most flexible, because Page also uses it. A Fighter pays 10 to 18 MP for Final Attack: Sword, the higher range of the two. Rage (max level 30, MP 10 to 25) is the Fighter-only extra in the data.
- Loadout 2, Fighter with an Axe. Same shape and same MP range as loadout 1, with Axe Mastery at max level 20 and Final Attack: Axe at max level 30. Pick this when you want the Fighter skill set but a different weapon category. The data does not record any damage difference between Sword and Axe.
- Loadout 3, Page with a Blunt weapon. The cheapest Final Attack range of the five, 8 to 16 MP, plus Threaten (max level 30, MP 10 to 25). If MP upkeep worries you, this is the line to read first.
- Loadout 4, Spearman with a Polearm. Final Attack: Polearm costs 8 to 16 MP. Iron Will has a max level of 30 and an MP range of 10 to 25.
- Loadout 5, Spearman with a Spear. Mirrors loadout 4 with Spear Mastery, Spear Booster and Final Attack: Spear. The same 8 to 16 MP range applies.
All three second jobs also share Rush (max level 20, MP 35 to 15), which is a notable cost curve: it starts expensive and gets cheaper as you level it. Booster MP costs follow the same falling pattern, 30 down to 10. That means an unleveled Booster is the most expensive way to run any loadout, and leveling it lowers upkeep rather than raising it.
The AP spread question
Every level grants 5 AP. Until level 11, AP is auto-allocated to the Beginner's primary stats; from level 11, allocation is manual. A new character starts with every primary stat at 4 and places 9 AP directly, giving an opening total of 25. There is no dice roll in Classic World. AP is permanent without a rare reset item, so a spread is a commitment.
The recorded rule for all five loadouts is simple: the primary stat is STR, and the first job gate is STR 35. The sources we use do not list how many AP to place in a secondary stat, so a specific spread would be invented. For that decision, read what STR and DEX do and how accuracy works in our stat and accuracy guides, then check your own misses against the monsters in the next section. A loadout that misses often is a DEX problem, not a weapon problem, and the data cannot tell you the threshold.
Where to train at level 30
The level band 20 to 30 holds 21 monsters. The table shows the ten with the highest EXP per HP, which is our derived ranking: EXP per kill divided by the monster's HP. A higher number means more EXP for each point of HP you have to chew through.
| Rank | Monster | Level | HP | EXP per kill | EXP per HP | Weak to |
|---|
| 1 | Jr. Necki | 21 | 272 | 39 | 0.143 | None listed |
| 2 | Stirge | 20 | 296 | 37 | 0.125 | None listed |
| 3 | Zombie Mushroom | 24 | 436 | 45 | 0.103 | Holy |
| 4 | Blue Mushroom | 19 | 342 | 35 | 0.102 | None listed |
| 5 | Horny Mushroom | 22 | 403 | 41 | 0.102 | None listed |
| 6 | Rocky Mask | 24 | 479 | 45 | 0.094 | None listed |
| 7 | Wooden Mask | 23 | 462 | 43 | 0.093 | None listed |
| 8 | Fairy 2 | 29 | 593 | 54 | 0.091 | Poison |
| 9 | Fairy 3 | 29 | 593 | 54 | 0.091 | Poison |
| 10 | Fairy 4 | 29 | 593 | 54 | 0.091 | Poison |
Two things stand out. First, the weakness column is irrelevant to a Warrior here: every Warrior skill's element column is empty, so the Holy weakness of Zombie Mushroom and the Poison weakness of the Fairies are not something your loadout can use. Second, the Fairies give the most EXP per kill (54) but cost the most HP to kill (593), and they sit at the bottom of this top ten on EXP per HP. Jr. Necki gives 39 EXP per kill at 272 HP, which is why it ranks first at 0.143.
Map choice matters as much as monster choice, because the listed count on map varies widely. Jr. Necki has 27 on Dangerous Croko I, 19 on The Swamp of Despair III and 18 on Line 2 (Area 2). Stirge has 38 on Dangerous Steam, 38 on Transfer Area and 35 on Dark Cave. Zombie Mushroom peaks at 61 on Ant Tunnel III, and Horny Mushroom peaks at 41 on Ant Tunnel IV. Wooden Mask has 30 on Excavation Site II. The Fairies are scarce: Fairy 2 has 2 on Someone Else's House, and Fairy 3 has 2 each on Tree Dungeon, Forest Up North VI and Tree Dungeon, Forest Up North VII.
How to choose a loadout: steps
- Decide your weapon category first: Sword or Axe leads to Fighter, Sword or Blunt weapon leads to Page, Spear or Polearm leads to Spearman.
- At level 30, advance in Perion through Dances with Balrog in Warrior Sanctuary. Remember that the first job gate is STR 35 and that AP is permanent without a rare reset item.
- Put your first second job points into the Mastery skill for your weapon, then take it to Lv 3 for Final Attack and Lv 5 for the Booster.
- Keep Power Strike as your main attack until you have a reason to switch, since its listed damage percent is 260 against Slash Blast's 130.
- Train where the table points: Jr. Necki on Dangerous Croko I for EXP per HP, or Stirge on Dangerous Steam if you prefer the larger listed count of 38.
What the data does not tell us
- No AP spread is listed for any of the five loadouts, so we do not print one.
- No scrolled weapon stats, equipment sets or potion budgets appear in the data used here.
- No spawn rate, kills per hour or EXP per hour is recorded, so every per-hour question is open. The only per-kill figure is the EXP value in the table.
- No drop rates are listed for these monsters yet.
- The Warrior skills table has no recorded damage values for the second job skills, so a damage comparison between loadouts would be a guess.
Until those gaps close, the safest comparison at level 30 as a solo Warrior is the one in the loadout table: pick by weapon category, then by Final Attack MP range, then train on the monster with the best EXP per HP you can reach.
