After reading this you will be able to place every AP point from character creation to the STR 35 gate, spend first-job skill points in a stated order, and arrive at level 30 ready to pick Fighter, Page or Spearman. MapleStory Classic World (Classic World from here on) is Nexon's recreation of pre-Big Bang MapleStory, running inside the Global MapleStory (GMS) client. Nexon's FAQ states that Founder's Access opens October 6, 2026 and Grand Launch is October 21, 2026, and that progress made in Founder's Access carries directly into Grand Launch with no wipe. A build you start early is a build you keep.
Assumptions for everything below: you play a Warrior from creation, solo, in the level 10 to 30 band. No potion budget is modeled, because no potion or meso prices are in our data. In-game numbers are per mapleclassic.wiki.
Step 1: AP from creation to the STR 35 gate
Classic World has no dice roll. Per mapleclassic.wiki, every primary stat starts at 4 and the new character places 9 AP directly. Putting all 9 into one stat takes it to 13. The Warrior's first job advancement gate is STR 35, so the arithmetic is simple: the gate is 35 STR, the creation ceiling is 13 STR, and the gap is 22 STR points that levels must supply.
Every level grants 5 AP. Until level 11, AP is auto-allocated to the Beginner's primary stats, and from level 11 you place it by hand. The fact sheet does not say how the auto-allocation splits between stats, so do not assume it all lands in STR. Check the stat window yourself.
- At creation: if you are certain of the Warrior, put all 9 AP into STR. That gives 13 STR. AP is permanent without a rare reset item, so this is the step to be sure about. For comparison, the other gates are INT 20 for Magician and DEX 25 for Bowman and Thief; none of them is reachable at creation alone.
- Levels before 10: AP is auto-allocated. Do not rely on it.
- At level 10: open the stat window and confirm STR is at 35 before you travel to Perion. Dances with Balrog in Warrior Sanctuary, Perion, is the Warrior 1st and 2nd job instructor, and the advancement happens at level 10. The fact sheet lists no workaround if you arrive short, so check first.
- After advancing: the first job grants a small one-time AP bonus. The amount is not listed. Place it in STR.
- From level 11: each level grants 5 AP, placed by hand. The primary stat for the Warrior and for all three second jobs is STR. The fact sheet lists no secondary stat target, so we do not recommend a split between stats.
One consequence of that last point: STR is the primary stat for the Warrior, Fighter, Page and Spearman alike. Your AP plan does not change when you choose a second job, so there is nothing to redo at level 30.
The Warrior skill list at a glance
The table below is the full first-job list as recorded by mapleclassic.wiki. Blank cells mean the value is not listed; we will not fill them from memory.
| Skill | Max level | MP cost | Damage % | Hits | Targets | Requires |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Power Strike | 20 | 4 to 12 | 260 | 1 | 1 | None |
| Slash Blast | 20 | 4 to 12 | 130 | 1 | 1 | Power Strike Lv 1 |
| Improved HP Recovery | 15 | Not listed | Not listed | Not listed | Not listed | None |
| Max HP Increase | 15 | Not listed | Not listed | Not listed | Not listed | Improved HP Recovery Lv 3 |
| Iron Body | 20 | 15 | Not listed | Not listed | Not listed | Max HP Increase Lv 3 |
| Precise Strikes | 15 | Not listed | Not listed | Not listed | Not listed | None |
Two things stand out. First, Power Strike and Slash Blast share the same MP range, hit count and target count; the only listed difference is damage, 260 against 130. Power Strike deals twice the listed damage per hit for the same MP range. Second, the three defensive skills form a chain: Iron Body requires Max HP Increase Lv 3, which requires Improved HP Recovery Lv 3. Their effect values are not in our data, so the only thing we can rank them on is that chain.
The SP order from level 10 to 30
The fact sheet does not list how many skill points you earn per level or in total by level 30. That means we cannot honestly write a plan of the form "level 14: put 3 points here". What we can write is a priority order, with the reasoning for each step, which you apply to however many points the game gives you.
| Priority | Skill | Target level | Reason, from the listed data |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Power Strike | 20 (max) | Only first-job skill with a listed damage value that is not beaten by another: 260 per hit, 1 hit, 1 target, no prerequisite. |
| 2 | Improved HP Recovery | 3 first, then up to 15 (max) | Level 3 is the unlock for Max HP Increase. Effect values are not listed. |
| 3 | Max HP Increase | 3 first, then up to 15 (max) | Level 3 is the unlock for Iron Body. Effect values are not listed. |
| 4 | Iron Body | Up to 20 (max) | Costs 15 MP per the sheet. Its effect is not listed, so treat it as optional until you can check the wiki entry. |
| 5 | Slash Blast | Hold at 0 for now | 130 damage against Power Strike's 260 with identical hits, targets and MP range. Needs Power Strike Lv 1 only. |
| 6 | Precise Strikes | Up to 15 (max) | No prerequisite, max 15, but its effect is not listed. We will not guess what it does. |
This ranking is our judgment, not a recorded fact, and it holds under stated conditions: solo, level 10 to 30, Power Strike as your main attack. If mapleclassic.wiki later shows that Slash Blast hits more than one target, or that Precise Strikes has a strong effect, the order should be revisited. As of the data we have, Slash Blast is listed with 1 target and 1 hit.
How to run the plan in three phases
Because per-level skill points are not listed, think in phases rather than levels.
- Phase A, after advancing at level 10: every point goes into Power Strike until it reaches 20. At level 1 of the skill you also satisfy the Slash Blast prerequisite, which is useful only if you want that option later.
- Phase B, once Power Strike is at 20: raise Improved HP Recovery to Lv 3, then Max HP Increase to Lv 3. That unlocks Iron Body. Continue into the chain in whatever proportion you prefer.
- Phase C, any points left before level 30: finish the chain or spend on Precise Strikes. At level 30 you advance, and the second job brings its own skill list.
One caveat on MP: Power Strike is listed at 4 to 12 MP, and Iron Body at 15 MP. The sheet does not say which end of the 4 to 12 range belongs to which skill level, so we cannot compute MP per kill. Watch your MP bar at low skill levels before trusting it to carry a long grind.
Where to use the build: monsters in the 10 to 30 band
Our data ranks 33 monsters in the level 10 to 30 band by EXP per HP point. That ranking is our own derived measure from mapleclassic.wiki figures, not a figure published by Nexon. The table shows a sample at each level range with one example map, and the number in brackets is the monster count on that map, not a respawn rate.
| Monster | Level | HP | EXP per kill | EXP per HP | Example map (count) |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Ribbon Pig | 10 | 172 | 19 | 0.11 | L Forest I (21) |
| Octopus | 12 | 191 | 23 | 0.12 | Damp Tree-Forest (19) |
| Green Mushroom | 14 | 233 | 26 | 0.112 | The Forest of Wisdom (30) |
| Bubbling | 15 | 259 | 28 | 0.108 | Line 1 (Area 1) (64) |
| Blue Mushroom | 19 | 342 | 35 | 0.102 | The Blue Mushroom Forest (16) |
| Stirge | 20 | 296 | 37 | 0.125 | Dangerous Steam (38) |
| Jr. Necki | 21 | 272 | 39 | 0.143 | Dangerous Croko I (27) |
| Horny Mushroom | 22 | 403 | 41 | 0.102 | Ant Tunnel IV (41) |
| Zombie Mushroom | 24 | 436 | 45 | 0.103 | Ant Tunnel III (61) |
Read the table by EXP per kill and HP together. Jr. Necki tops our ranking at 0.143 EXP per HP point: 39 EXP for 272 HP. The Ribbon Pig gives 19 EXP for 172 HP, which is 0.11. Zombie Mushroom pays the most per kill in this sample at 45 EXP, but its HP is 436, so each kill takes more damage. Stirge at level 20 is the second-ranked monster overall, at 37 EXP for 296 HP.
Elemental weaknesses are listed for three monsters: Octopus and Bubbling are weak to Lightning, and Zombie Mushroom is weak to Holy. No Warrior first-job skill has an element listed, so do not plan around those weaknesses at level 30 as a Warrior.
What this data does not give us: EXP per hour, respawn timing, drop rates, or your damage per hit. Power Strike's 260% is a multiplier on a damage number we do not have, so we cannot say how many hits a monster takes. Treat the EXP per HP column as a way to compare monsters, not as a promised hourly rate.
Feeding Fighter, Page or Spearman at level 30
All three second jobs advance at level 30 in Perion, per mapleclassic.wiki. Third job is not available at launch, so the second job is where the Warrior's skill tree ends in the launch game. Per the skill lists, no second-job skill lists a first-job skill as a prerequisite. The handoff is therefore carried by three things: your STR, your weapon choice, and the HP chain you already built.
The first job can use Sword, Axe, Blunt weapon, Spear and Polearm. Each second job narrows that down:
| Second job | Weapons | Mastery max | Booster max | Final Attack max | Buff skill | Buff max | Buff MP cost |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Fighter | Sword, Axe | 20 | 20 | 30 | Rage | 30 | 10 to 25 |
| Page | Sword, Blunt weapon | 20 | 20 | 30 | Threaten | 30 | 10 to 25 |
| Spearman | Spear, Polearm | 20 | 20 | 30 | Iron Will | 30 | 10 to 25 |
Each branch also has a Rush skill with a max of 20. Within a branch, Booster skills require the matching Mastery at Lv 5 and Final Attack skills require it at Lv 3. So the Sword Booster needs Sword Mastery Lv 5, while Final Attack: Sword needs Sword Mastery Lv 3. The Mastery skill is the gate for the weapon you choose.
Choosing before you reach level 30
- If you want the most overlap between options: Sword is the one weapon shared by two second jobs. Fighter and Page both list it. Spearman uses Spear and Polearm only.
- If you already know your weapon: the weapon decides the job. Axe means Fighter, Blunt weapon means Page, and Spear or Polearm means Spearman.
- If you care about the buff skill: the listed max and MP cost are the same across the three, so the sheet gives no reason to choose by buff alone. Effects are not listed.
Because STR is the primary stat for all three, nothing you place in STR before level 30 is wasted by a late decision. The one thing to avoid is spending AP outside STR before you know the gate and your second job.
What this guide does not tell you
- Skill points per level: not listed, so there is no level-by-level SP count here.
- Effects of Improved HP Recovery, Max HP Increase, Iron Body and Precise Strikes: not in our data. We ranked them by prerequisites only.
- The auto-allocation split before level 11: not listed. Check STR before level 10.
- The one-time AP bonus at the first job: its size is not listed.
- Respawn rates, drop rates and EXP per hour: not recorded. The monster table shows EXP per kill and EXP per HP, nothing more.
- Skill reset options: AP is permanent without a rare reset item; nothing is listed for skills.
When mapleclassic.wiki fills those gaps, the order above should be revised, especially if Slash Blast or Precise Strikes turn out to be stronger than their listed numbers suggest. Until then, the plan holds under the stated conditions: STR to 35 by level 10, Power Strike to 20 first, the HP chain next, and a weapon decision made before level 30.

Frequently asked
- What should a Warrior max first in Classic World?
- Power Strike. Per mapleclassic.wiki it has a max level of 20, no prerequisite, and a listed damage of 260 for 1 hit on 1 target, the highest listed damage among first-job skills. That ranking holds for solo play at levels 10 to 30.
- How much STR do I need to become a Warrior?
- STR 35 at level 10. Creation caps STR at 13 if you put all 9 AP into it, so the remaining 22 points come from levels, at 5 AP per level.
- Is there a dice roll for starting stats in Classic World?
- No. Every primary stat starts at 4 and you place 9 AP directly. Putting all 9 into one stat takes it to 13.
- Is Slash Blast worth putting points into?
- Not at first, based on the listed data. Slash Blast lists 130 damage, 1 hit and 1 target, against Power Strike's 260 with the same hits, targets and MP range. It requires only Power Strike Lv 1.
- Which second job should I choose at level 30?
- It depends on your weapon. Fighter uses Sword and Axe, Page uses Sword and Blunt weapon, and Spearman uses Spear and Polearm. All three use STR as the primary stat, so your AP does not change.
- Can I get third job as a Warrior at launch?
- No. Per mapleclassic.wiki, third job advancement is not available at launch, so second job at level 30 is the end of the Warrior's skill tree in the launch game.
